Following a fanstastic show at The Alhambra theatre in Dunfermline straight after performing at Beatle week:
The Getback Band have been asked back to do a Beatles Christmas show (even though they are a Macca tribute act!!). This will be on 21st December also at The Alhambra along with Revolver and Marcus Cahill - A Beatle week revisited if you like!!!
Anyway here is the link:

As for strippers, we've been there before.. almost. Quite a few years ago we got booked to play for a couple of weeks at the TT races on the Isle of Man. Strippers included. A week before we went over the island banned nudity, so we ended up playing alongside an X factor type girl band, who were ace actually, very decent kids. Unfortunately most of the bikers who paid in were unaware of the ban and various "show us yer tits" chants emanated.
I was happy to oblige

They really sound like such prudes in the Isle of Man, or maybe just the Manx Parliament. At least there could no such prudishness in Liverpool.

Obviously your shared interview with Spencer was during that gap that I missed of 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, although I was in Liverpool for the festival in 2005 & 2006 but not the convention unfortunately.

Often when watching a film on film four I noticed during commercial breaks a song that is featured in the background of Backbeat that Paul once requested for on MurrayK's show as seen in Beatles' first US visit shown recently on the BBC.

Alan - thanks for your kind comments. Apple was also formed to spend money before it was lost in tax, and according to recent books, Apple Records actually made money before the Company was taken over by Klein.
I enjoyed a joint Jackie Lomax interview with Spencer Leigh on the Adelphi stage a few years ago, and in fact have offered my services for interviews in the past. When listening to my interviews with 'names', it always seems that my informal technique works well and we have a lot of fun

Quite so Pete I would agree wth you on that one, I think that would have been last year together with forty years on from the White album. I beleve though you more than adequately covered it on your show for which I have always found it very interesting.
What is always interesting about Apple is the reason behind setting it up. Because of the problems the Beatles had of getting a recording contract they did not want others to have those same problems. Just a shame that it did not quite work out as they had intended, as I believe it was a little bit abused.
CCT probably could have done with a special live Beatles and beyond section of the convention guest speakers, just to mark forty years on of Apple. That's if you would have been prepared or up for that Pete.
The reasons for Paul having the Liverpool Institute converted to LIPA were similar. So as to teach the business side of the business so that others don't make the same mistakes they did. Maybe even combine LIPA and Apple celebrations to mark that, with another Thursday night LIPA gig the last one I went to was Neil Inness and the Rutles in 2000.
I think it is time they used LIPA again for something other than just the auction -which of course is fine.

Alan - I think it was a pity not to celebrate 40 years of Apple Records. I did something on the show but no-one else seemed very interested, perhaps it was too much to organise
